The cleaning effect of alkaline electrolyzed water

Apr23,24

While the diaphragm method is used for electrolysis to produce hypochlorous acid electrolyzed water, strong alkaline electrolyzed water (sodium hydroxide, NAOH) will be produced on the cathode side. Strongly alkaline electrolyzed water refers to electrolyzed water with a pH value higher than 11.0 (when used for industrial cleaning, its pH value can reach about 13.0). Its active ingredient is NaOH/KOH, which contains active hydrogen and can effectively remove lipids and proteins. Wait for dirt.

Strongly alkaline electrolyzed water equipment uses a diaphragm electrolytic cell, and the electrolyte is NaCl or KCl, which is produced together with strongly acidic electrolyzed water.

Unlike other alkaline waters formed from caustic soda, Strong Alkaline Electrolyzed Water does not cause skin irritation or chemical burns. In addition to its bactericidal effect, super alkaline ionized water is very effective in breaking down oil and is therefore widely used in cleaning manufacturing products and industrial machinery and parts, as well as CIP cleaning.

Decontamination properties of strongly alkaline electrolyzed water
1. Saponification
Oil or other fats will be decomposed when encountering strong alkaline electrolyzed water. Through saponification, the grease pollutants will become more easily separated.
2. emulsification and dispersion
Alkaline electrolyzed water cuts and disperses grease contaminants through emulsification, making them easier to peel off.
3. pollutant detachment
Under the action of alkaline electrolyzed water, most pollutant ions have a strong negative potential. At the same time, the surfaces of many objects to be cleaned also have negative charges. A repulsive force is generated between the two, which has a strong decontamination effect. In addition, this repulsive force can also prevent the surface of the object to be cleaned from being contaminated again.
4. Dissolved hydrogen
Alkaline electrolyzed water is rich in dissolved hydrogen, which also plays a certain role in the removal of pollutants.
5. Characteristics of small molecular groups
Water molecule is a highly polar molecule. Due to the effect of hydrogen bonds, water exists in a liquid state in the form of water molecule clusters, and this water molecule cluster will continue to gather, disperse and combine (as shown in the figure below), in a local area Under the action of the electric field force formed by ions, polar water molecules will form molecular groups around a certain ion. When the electric field reaches a certain intensity and a certain concentration of ions is used as a scaffold, the water of the large molecular groups will become water into small molecular clusters and therefore has better permeability.

Bactericidal properties of strongly alkaline electrolyzed water
Due to its high pH value, strongly alkaline electrolyzed water can hydrolyze the proteins and nucleic acids of pathogenic bacteria, destroy the normal metabolic function of bacteria, and cause the death of bacteria. It has a strong bactericidal effect and can kill viruses.
